How AbilityMade began
AbilityMade was created and is maintained by a high school student and a college student who wanted to make the work of disabled artisans more visible and accessible. This nonprofit organization supports people with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities.
The people behind every piece
Although facing mental and physical challenges, our artisans respond with resilience and determination. They spend hours learning techniques and carefully completing each piece by hand. Every handicraft carries the patience, skill, and individual expression of the person who made it.
Why handmade matters
Every product featured by AbilityMade is 100% handmade. From frame clutch purses and diamond paintings to beaded sculptures and bracelets, no two creations are exactly alike. These differences are part of what makes each piece meaningful.
